Located in the beautifully restored Intercolonial Railway Station in the heart of Sussex, New Brunswick, the 8th Hussars Military Museum offers visitors a journey through more than a century of military history. This striking Victorian-era landmark is not just a museum—it is part of the Regiment’s story itself.
From the late 19th century onward, countless 8th Hussars passed through this very station on their way to train at Camp Sussex and to serve overseas in the South African War, the First World War, and the Second World War. Today, the building stands as a living link between past and present, welcoming visitors to explore the legacy of those who served.
Inside, the museum’s collection brings the life of the Regiment to light. Visitors can view original uniforms dating back to 1881, Routine Orders from as early as 1893, and rare memorabilia from Hussars who represented the Regiment at Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. The story continues through displays from the World Wars, UN and NATO peacekeeping missions, the Afghanistan engagement, and artifacts donated by current serving members—proof that the Regiment’s history is still being written.
Open to the public during the summer months, the 8th Hussars Military Museum is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, families, and anyone looking to experience the rich military heritage of New Brunswick in an authentic and unforgettable setting.
