One Centre, Many Communities
Discover the rich history and heritage of Black New Brunswickers at the NBBHS Heritage Centre. The New Brunswick Black History Society (NBBHS) is dedicated to the research, analysis, documentation and preservation of New Brunswick’s Black History - past and present.
Visitors to the Heritage Centre can explore engaging bilingual exhibitions, take part in educational tours, and join public programs that highlight the significant contributions of Black New Brunswickers. Through these experiences, NBBHS fosters awareness, understanding, and meaningful connections within the wider community, while supporting the integration of Black history into New Brunswick’s schools.
Strategically located in the heart of uptown Saint John, the Heritage Centre is not just a place to learn—it’s a vibrant hub for learning, community engagement and a starting point for exploring Black heritage sites throughout the province.
